Wow Shawnee Inn you clean up well! I have been here several times before as we are Wyndham (née Shawnee) owners. This past 4th of July weekend however is the first time I was totally satisfied and very happy to be dining at the inn. I think they threw a new coat of paint on the dining room or something because it looked fresher in there. The service which had (through no fault of their own) been untrained teens has been replaced by what felt like experienced and courteous servers. The menu has been trimmed and updated. There are local made beers on tap. I will admit I was worried about ordering food based on prior visits. But I went with it; asparagus appetizer, lamb chops, steak, mahi mahi, and coffee with pie to close. The beer came first and it was delicious. The food came a bit later and looked/ smelled delish. The taste did not disappoint. The asparagus was coated in a light tempura batter and fried, the dipping sauce was wonderfully sriracha-y. When the mains came out the meat/fish were perfectly cooked! I was having a lamby foodgasm. To their credit the haricot vert was also cooked perfectly. We finished with coffee (French press) and a slice of pie which I wish was warm. The place was mostly empty when we walked in ( with one wonderfully entertaining rowdy table of golfers). The guy playing the stick chatted us up while playing classic rock. Within an hour the place was packed. Future visitors should make reservations. In short whatever and whoever is responsible for this magnificent turn around please keep up the good work.

One of the worst restaurant experienced I've ever had. The waiter said that the tacos were to die for and they tasted like dog food. I ordered the special of the day, which was the duck, and the portion was extremely small for the super high price of $27. Stay away!!!

Never had a bad experience here. Bread is warm, food is good and price is decent. They have menus according to fall or summer and it is a nice touch. Service is very attentive.

Maybe my expectations were too high? Maybe we city folk are more finnicky with what country folk consider upscale? Ambiance was lacking, service was meh, carpet needs replacing, hotel guests showing up in sweatshirts was annoying, and food was fine but not as fresh and seasonal as the menu made me believe, and definitely overpriced. Loved the fried green tomatoes (although small serving), the Southwestern grouper made me have some stomach issues later, and desert options were boring. All around, everything could have been better.

My husband and I came to the Shawnee Inn for our honeymoon on the recommendation of friends. I had high expectations of the food since they have their own organic garden which supplies much of the restaurant's produce. But the portion sizes and quality have been very inconsistent. Our first night here we paid $60 for dinner for 2 and left still hungry. One night I ordered the pasta special with veggies in a garlic cream sauce. When the dish finally came, it was missing half the veggies indicated on the menu. When the waiter brought it back 20 min later, the added veggies were raw and mixed in. My husband ordered eggs Benedict and the hollandaise was very sour. After 5 days here and dining in the Riverroom 5 times, it seems to be hit or miss. Not a good value for us.

The only thing good about this meal was the wait staff. Our water glasses were promptly filled, and we were continuously asked if we were satisfied with out meal (we weren't). Not one of my 5 family members liked the food, as can be seen by the three bites we all took. Besides the lying menu which told me that my Zucchini pasta would have more than 2 PIECES of zucchini on it, the food was either dry as a desert or as bland as cardboard. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, the cheapest dish was $15. This place is a disgusting rip off, avoid at all costs!!!

Delicious!!!!! The staff and chef bent over backwards to please our party. We didn't want red clam sauce and they catered to us and made the entree with white instead. For an appetizer I HIGHLY recommend the muscles. The broth is to die for..... Make sure you dip your bread into it.

This is the fancy dining option at the shawnee inn. The menu is continental cuisine and it's excellently prepared, though a bit on the bland side. The service is slow and inefficient. I had a chicken breast with a honey and chipotle marinade and while the cook had infused the honey and crisped the outside to perfection, the chipotle was all but non existent. The sides of beans were perfect though. Not sure the prices should be in the 20's for this food, between 15-20 would be good.
